Who are they?
The purpose of School-level student representatives is to ensure that there is the opportunity for the student body to comment upon matters of School of Clinical Medicine business and to directly raise any issues expressed by students at the relevant School Committees.
When to contact them?
If you would like to raise an issue at a particular committee meeting, then please get in touch with the student reps below. You can find more information about the types of committees at the School of Clinical Medicine here. Alternatively, you can contact your department/course rep and ask them to raise your concern with the relevant student reps.
Interested in becoming a student representative?
If you are interested in becoming a School of Clinical Medicine student representative, elections are held once a year and an email is normally circulated in October/November asking people to nominate themselves via an online form. These student representatives usually start their post in January.

Why did you become a student rep? To give the students a voice in important matters
What have you enjoyed most about being a study rep? Being able to be a part of meetings where important decisions are made and being one of the people making those decisions.
What have you enjoyed the most about studying at the School of Clinical Medicine? The people at my department, the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute.

Why did you become a student rep? I wanted to be a voice for my course mates to connect and relay their opinions of the course with our course directors. I also enjoy talking to people and providing advice and support when I can, so I felt like I would be able to fulfil this role well.
What have you enjoyed most about being a study rep? I enjoyed becoming closer with my course mates and having constructive conversations with them while also becoming friends.
What have you enjoyed the most about studying at the School of Clinical Medicine? Attending lectures given by inspiring presenters and working with mentors that are extremely passionate about their work has been so valuable to my Cambridge postgraduate experience.

Why did you become a student rep? My objective of being a student rep was to represent students’ viewpoints, regardless of whether or not I agree with them. I wanted to not just represent, but also support and empower each one of them.
What have you enjoyed most about being a study rep? I enjoyed having the opportunity to represent the students in council and faculty board meetings and also getting an idea of how the school works.
What have you enjoyed the most about studying at the School of Clinical Medicine? The most collaborative and vibrant research community I am part of.
